Basic vCenter Configuration Manager installation


VCM is a very complicated solution, and any advanced installation configurations are outside the scope of this book. We will go through a basic installation in this chapter so as to get started with using VCM with vC Ops.

In order to install VCM, we will need a Windows 2008r2 VM and at least two domain accounts (one interactive account and one service account), which will both need to be local admins on the VCM VM. Once we have these requirements in order, we'll get started with the Typical (also called Single Tier or Basic) install.

A typical installation can be done by using the following steps:

  1. Login as the administrator account we plan on using for the VCM.
