Using VCM metrics within vC Ops


At this point, we've spent a lot of time in VCM, and most likely we'll be spending even more time tweaking it so that it does everything we need it to do within our environments. Now we can jump back into our vC Ops dashboard to see some of the VCM metrics and how they affect our badges.

Compliance

As I mentioned previously, the Risk badge will be the most affected by VCM when it comes to compliance. In fact, we have a new minor badge called Compliance under the Risk badge as we can see in the Dashboard tab.

Compliance will be a score between 0 and 100, with 100 meaning that our object(s) are completely compliant when compared to the templates we've chosen. When we click on the Compliance score, we're taken to the Planning tab under the Views sub tab. As shown in the following screenshot, there is a new view called Compliance Breakdown.

We can pick any object on the left-hand side from our tree, and we can see how it compares with our different templates. In...
