Supporting non-Microsoft Updates


Since a long time ago, ConfigMgr has enabled the deployment of third-party software updates using the WSUS server. These updates can be published on the WSUS server using System Center Updates Publisher. It is an additional software licensed along with the ConfigMgr server.

Thanks to the update, publisher administrator can do the following:

  • Import third-party software updates
  • Create and modify the updates definition
  • Export the updates definition to a catalog
  • Publish updates or updates catalogs on the WSUS server

Some of the vendors, such as Adobe, HP, Fujitsu or Dell, prepare ready-to-use catalogs with updates that can be imported.
