Overview of this book

This book presents an introductory perspective on how machine learning plays an important role in a VMware environment. It offers a basic understanding of how to leverage machine learning primitives, along with a deeper look into integration with the VMware tools used for automation today. This book begins by highlighting how VMware addresses business issues related to its workforce, customers, and partners with emerging technologies such as machine learning to create new, intelligence-driven, end user experiences. You will learn how to apply machine learning techniques incorporated in VMware solutions for data center operations. You will go through management toolsets with a focus on machine learning techniques. At the end of the book, you will learn how the new vSphere Scale-Out edition can be used to ensure that HPC, big data performance, and other requirements can be met (either through development or by fine-tuning guidelines) with mainstream products.

Summary

The VMware operation team have created templates for all of their applications, alongside their configurations, through vRA. This automation tool minimizes the end-to end application provisioning time from a few weeks down to 36 hours. We are able to enhance the whole cycle to less than 24 hours after the first year. Automation will help not only in quick provisioning but also in maintaining consistency in repeated tasks. We can build development and test labs rapidly with automated, predefined policies, and so we avoid any human errors. VMware engineers can now use their time for new developments and help their operation team to be more agile. Employees can initiate and execute their tasks through a self-service portal. This means that applications are provisioned in a few hours and so the development team have more time for new projects. This enhances the efficiency of VMware developers and also reduces the security risk which comes as malicious codes, and backlogged jobs. VMware...
