Summary

Another microservice journey ends here. The main points in this chapter were creating a second microservice and establishing synchronous communication between microservices. We started our chapter with business requirements. After getting a clear understanding of what we should do, we started to introduce main stack tools to develop our transaction microservice. We didn’t use the tools we used before to develop our account service. JavaScript has really rich tools and frameworks to use when it comes to developing microservices. To demonstrate the beauty of having multiple tools, we used NestJS with some popular packages such as Prisma and Axios. In the end, we established communication with an already existing microservice (the account microservice) using a synchronous communication model. Of course, we still missed out a lot. We didn’t cover exception handling, resiliency, and a lot of other interesting topics that we plan to introduce in our upcoming chapters...
