As mentioned earlier in this chapter, there are a specific number of fonts which should be used for your main body text on website pages. The reason for these selected few is because they are easy to read and available on a diverse range of user computer systems, therefore offering the best opportunity to reach as large an audience as you can.

Fonts which usually fit into the previous categorization are called "web safe" fonts. Web safe fonts are a group of fonts which are installed and common among all versions of Windows, MAC, and Linux computers.
