Model code

The Model is a very important piece of the puzzle. If you tried to register a user account you will see an error message, because currently the Model does not exist. Let's add it now. Create a new file inside the /system/application/models/ directory, and call it account_model.php.

Model constructor

Here's what our Model constructor looks like. It's very simple, as we're simply calling on the parent class construct and loading the database library.

Create function

The create function is as simple as it could get, thanks to CodeIgniter's Active Record implementation. We can simple take the array passed to it and insert it into the database by using the insert() function.

{  
  if($this->db->insert('users', $data))
  {
    return TRUE;
  }

  return FALSE;
}

We always return either TRUE or FALSE in capital letters...
