Content publishing is a people-driven process. After the developer has set up the structure of the website, created the templates, and ensured that the applications work, contributors, or authors begin creating content. They fill the site with the pages and files that make up the site. Finally, a gatekeeper, usually a supervisor or manager eyeballs the content provided by authors before it is published on the site. Even if you are running a fully automated site that draws content from multiple sources, at some point in time, there are people involved in the process.
The way content gets published at your organization may differ. Despite the differences, there is always a standard way of doing things, processes that people follow, and rules to play by.
