Building Websites with Microsoft Content Management Server
By :
After the MCMS 2002 installation is complete, you will need to run the Database Configuration Application (DCA). In the database selection dialog, choose the MCMS 2001 database you wish to upgrade from.
This will modify the schema in the database, and also extract the template and channel rendering script (also known as the navigation template) code to the file system. This code will be copied into the Templates and Channel_Rendering_Scripts folders under the Server\IIS_NR\exeres subdirectory of the MCMS installation folder.
During the upgrade, the DCA will create a MigrationReport.txt file in the MCMS LogFiles folder located in the MCMS LogFiles directory. This report outlines any changes that were made, including the location of the templates and channel rendering scripts listed above, as well as any placeholders that may have changed.
Once the DCA has completed its job, your site should generally be working again under MCMS 2002. But we need to check a few things...
Change the font size
Change margin width
Change background colour
