Building Websites with Microsoft Content Management Server
Other options for achieving aggregate content listings on an MCMS website include:
Using a database to index postings and their metadata. You can implement some form of indexing that provides a quick lookup mechanism, and some search engines can do this as well.
Create a static snapshot of the home page on a regular basis, say at the start of each day. The static page is then used for that day rather than re-generating it each time a user requests it.
Pulling and pushing content from MCMS to non-MCMS sources using Web Services. See Using Microsoft Content Management Server 2002 and Web Services on MSDN (found at http://msdn.microsoft.com/library/en-us/dnmscms02/html/cms_2002webservices.asp).
Examples of these methods and others can be found by searching the resources listed in Appendix B.
