In the previous chapters, you installed MCMS and connected it to a back-end SQL Server database using the Database Configuration Application (DCA).
During the process, you made some basic decisions regarding the way MCMS is configured to run. These and many more settings can be configured using a web interface known as the Server Configuration Application (SCA).
As a developer, you are likely to use the SCA very often to configure options, tune the cache settings, and look for pockets of information that are necessary for setting up your websites. This chapter is designed to walk you through the available options. However, nothing beats getting hands-on experience. Right now, we don't have a website to see the effect these values have on the system. Along the way, we will refer you to chapters that provide a step-by-step guide on how to work with these options on a live website.
