Introduction

A resource catalog is the repository that contains the resources you can add on a page, taskflow, or template. It can contain taskflows, portlets, content, and so on. All these components can be organized in folders.

A WebCenter application can have multiple catalogs. You can create complex business logic that will decide which catalog to use. Each component can also be filtered based upon your own logic. All these topics will be covered in this chapter.

Managing the resources that are available in a catalog will be an important task for an administrator. That's why it is important you should be able to do this at runtime without needing to redeploy the application.

With the resource manager in WebCenter, you have the ability to manage almost every aspect of the resource catalog. In this chapter, you will learn all you need to know how to manage resource catalogs.
