Summary


This chapter highlighted that a Compiere implementation requires the same change management process as any other major change within an organization. Due to the integrated environment, it will affect most parts of the business environment.

We explained that it is important to identify the people and ensure appropriate communication for the project. We covered an overview of technical and project requirements to reach the go-live milestone. We also listed issues to be addressed after go-live, including post-implementation support. We also covered the migration process and planning for the migration so as to ensure that the system stays up-to-date.

The success of a Compiere implementation has less to do with the actual functionality and more to do with a practical project implementation approach, and guiding management, end users, and the project role players through the implementation journey to their new environment. Any ERP system or technology is not the answer to every business...
