An Alternative Action (in UPK terms) is another way of doing the same thing on a single Frame. If you remember the initial description of what UPK captures during recording, you'll recall that what it captures is a set of action/screenshot pairs—effectively, a screenshot and the action carried out to get there. With this in mind, an Alternative Action is another action that will also get you to the same screenshot. This is probably best clarified by way of an example.
In the exercise that we have been working on throughout this book, we have a Frame where the user was required to refresh the screen by clicking on the Enter button on the toolbar. In the Topic Editor, the Frame appears as follows:
