Registering external Applications


When you use a collaborative environment, you also want your users to be able to use external applications. When you register external applications, you allow WebCenter Spaces to mimic the single sign on process. This way, the applications looks integrated into your portal.

Getting ready

For this recipe, you need a working WebCenter domain with at least the AdminServer and WebCenter Spaces server.

How to do it...

  1. 1. Go to the Enterprise Manager (http://localhost:7001/em).

  2. 2. Log in as the administrator.

  3. 3. On the left, open the WebCenter folder.

  4. 4. Open the WebCenter Spaces node.

  5. 5. Select the webcenter node.

  6. 6. On top, select WebCenter.

  7. 7. Select Settings | Service Configuration from the context menu.

  8. 8. Select External Application from the list of services.

  9. 9. Specify an Application Name.

  10. 10. Specify a Display Name.

  11. 11. Check the Enable Automatic Login checkbox.
