Passing through all of the obstacles one by one in your career path to becoming a CISO is a bit challenging, depending on the industry that you work for, the culture, and the country that you live in. As Erdal Ozkaya articulates, the inner details of how to become a cybersecurity leader are crystal clear; I would like to touch on different aspects of becoming a CISO with a technical background.

In my opinion, some books and articles on being a CISO underestimate the power of technical skills for CISOs and highlight only the soft skills.
