Summary

The purpose of this chapter was to go through techniques of modifying standard or third-party code while keeping the footprint on AX at a minimum. We also covered where modifications should be made and the tools available for us to help determine this.

We took our first look at standard frameworks, and introduced the usage of metadata. In the next chapter, we will further explore the more advanced features of Dynamics AX, including the SysOperation framework, the global address book, and the financial dimension framework.
