Time for action – configuring the pencil size and pressure settings


When creating any new tool, we need to begin with establishing the basic settings. First we need to think about the basic size of the tool and how it interacts with the pressure settings from our stylus. We'll be working with the BasePencil MS4B that we just created. Eventually, we'll be saving this pencil under its own name, so do not save the settings or revert to initial settings unless you get lost. In case you happen to get lost, just start all over again:

  1. Make sure that the BasePencil MS4B is still the active pencil tool by clicking on the tool name in the Sub Tool palette.

  2. In the Tool Property palette, click on the wrench to bring up the Tool Settings palette. Take some time to look at the palette. Click on the various categories (the list on the left of the palette) and see what they reveal.
