Dealing with 3D objects

Let's get acquainted with the options in the Material palette for 3D, and then we'll learn how to use the 3D stuff in Time for action – placing and manipulating a 3D material.

Open Manga Studio and create a new document. Open up the Material palette. As shown in the previous screenshot, click on the 3D entry. Take a few moments to scan what is there under the 3D folder. There's:

  • Body type: Here, there's a 3D drawing doll for males and females

  • Pose: Click on the disclosure triangle and be treated to dozens of different poses for the body and hands

  • Characters: There's just one guy and two gals here, in the typical school-kid garb

  • Small object: An assortment of various props

  • Backgrounds: A limited selection of miscellaneous locations

  • Motion: An empty folder

Locate a small object named Mug A. We'll be using this in the next section.
