In this chapter, we learned about the vary basics of multi-user chat in XMPP. That said, we still went on to build a couple of really exciting small projects, which can be the stepping stones to much more powerful and useful applications, both for server tasks and to increase interaction on websites.
There's still a large amount we haven't covered with MUCs, but as always, they are openly documented on the XMPP website, and specifically in XEP-0045 (http://xmpp.org/extensions/xep-0045.html).
There are several things that we did not cover in this chapter. These include invites, message history, reserved nicknames, banning users, leaving a room, converting a one-to-one chat to a multi-user chat, requesting the ability to post messages in a chat room (if you don't have the ability by default), approving/denying those requests, and joining a password-protected room. Further exploration of the XEPs will reveal the details of how these capabilities can be developed.
Multi-user chat is a fun...
