Licensing for Power Platform
In this section, we will look at some of the underlying principles that are used to determine the licensing requirements for Power Platform products. We saw in the initial chapters of this book that Power Platform is a suite of products, including Power BI, Power Apps, Power Automate, Power Virtual Agents, Power Apps portals, and Microsoft Dataverse. The capabilities of these products are seeded either in full or through some features in various other Microsoft product families, such as Office 365, Microsoft 365, and Dynamics 365. Dynamics 365 is a suite of CRM applications (for things such as sales, marketing, and customer service) and ERP applications (for things such as finance, supply chain management, and inventory management). As a result of this, you will see the features of Power Platform tiered across Microsoft 365, Power Platform, and Dynamics 365.
