RHEV Hypervisor hosts' logs


Most of the logs related to RHEV hypervisor hosts are logged in the hypervisor's /var/log/vdsm directory. For detailed information on the logs related to RHEV hypervisor hosts, please refer to the following list of logfiles:

  • Complete information on the RHEV Hypervisor Host installation process can be found in the following logfile:

    /var/log/ovirt.log

  • The complete list of information about the registration process of the RHEV Hypervisor host with RHEV Manager is stored in the following logfile:

    /var/log/vdsm-reg/vdsm-reg.log

  • Logs under vdsm.log reflect the activity of the VDSM service, and this is the best place to troubleshoot the manager and hypervisor communication and more:

    /var/log/vdsm/vdsm.log

  • All libvirt-service-related logs are tracked under libvirtd.log, where one can track the create, destroy, start, and stop statuses of virtual machines; they are stored in the following logfile:
