Summary
In this chapter, we touched on the Apps Manager which provides a user-friendly UI for common settings and commands related to the deployment and management of applications and services used in Cloud Foundry. We also took our first look at the cf CLI and found that it supports a wide range of commands for managing applications and related activities in Cloud Foundry.
Initial setup of the cf CLI is required prior to performing most development-related management tasks on Cloud Foundry. We found that the cf CLI is a tool that can be used with any of the various distributions of Cloud Foundry, including Cloud Foundry open source deployments, Pivotal Web Services, Pivotal Cloud Foundry, and PCF Dev (used for local development and deployment). And the cf CLI is used with other publicly available Cloud Foundry variants, such as IBM Cloud (formerly Bluemix), GE Predix, and more.
