VPC overview

Amazon VPC is designed to give us the ability to provision a logically isolated network within the AWS cloud. Once created, we have complete control over the networking environment. We can set up our own IP address ranges and subnets and configure routes and network gateways. Both IPv4 and IPv6 can be used in the VPC to access resources and applications. Once the VPC and connectivity options are created, we can spin up AWS Elastic Compute Cloud (EC2) or Elastic Container Service (ECS) instances inside public or private subnets. To control network security within the VPC, we can use security groups and network access control lists (ACLs).
