Introduction to DevOps

DevOps is not a product or tool that you can buy or install. DevOps is about culture and the way you write, release, and operate your software. DevOps is about shortening the time between a new idea and your first end user experiencing the value it delivers. As the purpose of this book is to help you prepare for the AZ-400 certification exam, the core concepts and DevOps-related practices will be illustrated using Azure DevOps and its associated technologies.

DevOps has gained popularity in recent years, with almost all software engineering teams adapting themselves to a new world of doing things using a newer set of tools that activate productivity and better collaboration across development and operations. DevOps is often seen as an extension of Agile, but its scope is much wider, wherein it complements Agile.
