Upgrading and Patching Using vSphere Update Manager

Updating and patching your vSphere environment is part of a periodic maintenance routine. Although the update/upgrade/patch can be done manually, it becomes a tedious process when you're dealing with a large environment. vSphere Update Manager (VUM) allows you to manage patching and the upgrade process with ease.

VMware fully integrated Update Manager into its appliance with vSphere 6.5. It runs as a service and uses the vPostGres database. No changes have been made to this model in vSphere 6.7, but it has a much-improved workflow and HTML5 client integration.
