Summary

Networking is a complex concept and component of cloud solution design. Therefore, it needs planning, understanding, requirement analysis, and the right decisions to be made for different requirements in the solution. In this chapter, we touched upon the different services provided by IBM Cloud to design a solution with different requirements, including connectivity, isolation, security, and operations. This chapter only discussed the fundamentals; however, we recommend looking at the official IBM Cloud documentation to clarify the different concepts, services, and reference architectures that were mentioned.

In the next chapter, we will discuss the core component of a cloud solution: security. We will try to understand the different requirements for security in a cloud solution. We will also become familiar with the different services available on IBM Cloud to design a secured solution.
