Microsoft SQL Server 2008 R2 Master Data Services
MDS business rules are created within a model for a given entity, member type (leaf or consolidated), and attribute combination. All of this is carried out in the System Administration function, which exposes the familiar MDS grid-based interface to hold the created business rules. Although our Store model does not contain any business rules yet, an example of the business rules user interface for the sample Product model is shown next:

The familiar green plus icon that is shown is how the business rules are created, much like the other MDS objects that we've looked at so far. |

The business rules contain a concept called publishing that involves creating or editing the business rules offline, before clicking this button to make the rules active on the server. |
