Understanding the prerequisites for supported Exchange server protection


This recipe will cover the information that you need to understand the prerequisites for a supported scenario of Exchange server protection.

The following list provides the supported versions for the Exchange server workload:

  • Exchange Server 2013

  • Exchange Server 2010

  • Exchange Server 2007

For System Center Data Protection Manager 2012 R2 to be able to protect the Exchange server workload, a DPM agent must be installed on the Exchange server and attached to the corresponding DPM server.

If the Exchange server is installed in an environment where limited storage capability is an issue, the Exchange administrator can enable circular logging in the Exchange configuration.
