Viewing findings

Let's execute the following steps to view the findings:

  1. From within the Amazon Inspector dashboard, select the Findings option from the left menu:

  1. This will display all of the findings that were recorded in your assessment. The findings that I have looked for are as follows:

We can see that the Findings page provides information for each finding based on the following:

    • The severity of the finding
    • The date it was found
    • The finding itself, which relates to a rule in one of the rules packages
    • The target the finding was found on
    • The template assessment used to find the finding
    • The rules package that the finding relates to

It is worth noting that the severity range is High, Medium, Low, and Informational. In my example, we can see that we have a lot of High severity findings that need investigation, and these should always be investigated first as there is a chance that the instance could be or already has been compromised.
