Chapter 13. Deal with Security

In this last advanced chapter, we'll speak about security, an essential aspect of working with data. To add protection, you need to have Tableau Server. In this chapter, we'll focus on three ways of dealing with security:

  • Tableau Server security
  • User filters
  • Row-level filters

To manage the security on Tableau Server, you need to have sufficient privilege on it. To add the user filter and build the row-level security filter, you need at least one access to Tableau Server. Let's start with the most straightforward way of securing your data on Tableau Server.
