Summary

In this chapter, we have covered the installation of Elasticsearch on different operating systems. We started with installation on Linux and macOS. Then we covered installation using the Debian and rpm packages. We also covered installing Elasticsearch manually using the rpm package. After that, we covered installation on Windows using the MSI installer of Elasticsearch. Then we covered how to install Elasticsearch on macOS using Homebrew. Finally, we covered how to check whether Elasticsearch is running by hitting the Elasticsearch URL. In this way, we have covered the process of installing Elasticsearch on different operating systems. In the next chapter, we will cover how to interact with Elasticsearch using REST calls to call different operations.
