Summary

As you have seen, authentication for Fabric is handled through Microsoft Entra ID for internal and external users. External, also known as guests, can be invited from the Azure portal to the Entra ID directory or from select locations within Fabric. There are additional settings in the Fabric Admin portal area that govern how external users can operate beyond what was covered in this chapter. First, we saw how conditional access can be used to secure the front door of the Fabric environment. Next, we looked at the roles and permissions available for securing workspaces, as well as more granular item-level sharing and security. Finally, we explored a suite of governance tools, such as Microsoft Purview, to take cataloging and discovery to the next level. When combined, these concepts will help you design and implement a secure and compliant analytics environment.
