Time for action - creating a group


Let's first learn how to create a Mahara group:

  1. 1. Click on the Groups option in the menu bar. This is the area containing all the options that you need to access the social aspects of Mahara.

  2. 2. By default, you are now on the My Groups page. Currently, you don't belong to any groups, but that's about to change. Click on the Create Group button as shown in the following screenshot:

  1. 3. You will now see the Create Group page. This contains all the options you need to configure your new group. Start by giving your group a relevant name in the Group name box.

  2. 4. Next, take some time to fill in the Group Description. The information that you enter here will show up in the group "About" page.

  3. 5. The Group Type option allows you to decide how other users join your group. There are three possible types of groups available to normal Mahara users. Administrators and Staff Members have three additional group types, which we will introduce to you in Chapter 7. Don't worry...
