For many developers integrating with SharePoint may be a confusing endeavour. This in part is related to the required components that must be present in order for integration to occur between these two systems.
Out of the box, BizTalk includes an adapter called the Windows SharePoint Services adapter. This is the adapter that you use when communicating with SharePoint Document and Form Libraries.
Using this BizTalk adapter on its own is not enough. In order for this adapter to properly function, we need to also install the Windows SharePoint Services Adapter Web Service. This Adapter Web Service is available on the BizTalk installation CD, but the Windows SharePoint Services Adapter Web Service needs to be installed on the SharePoint server.
