The introduction has mentioned two key metrics for measuring system performance under load, which are response times and throughput. Test Studio has its own translation and elaboration on these metrics, which are gathered during load tests, in order to provide the user with important data to be utilized in post-analysis. Later in this chapter, we will see the other metrics that Test Studio can monitor while running load tests.

Simplified version of a load test over time
The previous diagram is a simplified illustration of a typical load test. We are going to traverse it from left to right to see how each component and measurement fits in the load testing picture. On the left-most part of the diagram, we have the system users. On the rightmost, we have the servers whereas in between the various arrows reflect the communication taking place between the two ends.
