CLI is a client-side tool that can be installed on your computer to access EMR services and manage the cluster. We will learn to set up this toolkit and how to use it to launch EMR clusters and execute MapReduce jobs. The EMR CLI client requires a Ruby environment to be installed, and it supports Ruby 1.8.7, 1.9.2, and 2.0 Versions.
