Allocating hosts to roles


After we have set the services' configuration options, we need to assign hosts to the deployments roles. Staypuft will provision the hosts and will install and configure the OpenStack services based on the roles' association.

Assign hosts to the Controller, Neutron, and Compute roles.

How to do it...

Proceed with the following steps:

  1. Assign Controller node: Click on +, next to the Controller role, mark the checkbox next to a host to be deployed as a controller node on the left-hand side menu, and click on Assign Hosts.

  2. Assign Neutron node: Click on +, next to the Neutron role, mark the checkbox next to a host to be deployed as a Neutron network node on the left-hand side menu,and click on Assign Hosts.

  3. Assign Compute nodes: Click on + next to the Neutron role, mark the checkbox next to a host to be deployed as a Neutron network node on the left-hand side menu, and click on Assign Hosts.
