When terabyte-scale devices won't do and we need to move Petabyte and Zetabyte scale data to the cloud, then the only option is the Snowmobile. The Snowmobile is a standard 45 ft shipping container delivered on a truck that has the capacity to retrieve and move huge amounts of data very efficiently. Each Snowmobile has 100 PB of capacity and has enough transfer capacity to fill up the disks in about 2 weeks of non-stop transferring. To achieve that transfer capacity, up to 1,000 Gbs of throughput is required, which would also need to be available on the data center side if we want to use all the capacity the Snowmobile has to offer.
