Summary

That’s a wrap on Chapter 10! We’ve really amped up our application by bringing it into the real-time era, moving far beyond the functionalities we started with. Stepping into real-time functionality felt like opening a whole new door for us.

Creating the comments table wasn’t just about defining another table; it was about making something that works smarter, not harder. It was about automation and simplification (deriving the ticket ID) as well as using custom functions in the respective RLS policies (rls_helpers), hence, making them much more readable and maintainable.

But the actual game-changer? Live updates in the comments. There’s something pretty satisfying about seeing user interactions unfold in real time. It takes the user experience from “good” to “wow.” We navigated through the potentials and pitfalls of Realtime features, learning valuable lessons along the way.
