Debugging and troubleshooting can be a big hassle for you if you don't know how to do this effectively when you use Ajax. In this chapter, we will be learning about a few tools and techniques to debug and troubleshoot Ajax applications.

First of all, we will be looking at the awesome tools built for the Mozilla Firefox browser—Firebug, and FirePHP. These two tools are probably the most popular for debugging Ajax requests and responses. In the next section, we will be looking at another important but less sophisticated tool for Internet Explorer—the IE developer toolbar.
