QTP uses a test object to represent an object in AUT. Each test object has one or more methods and properties that are used to perform operations and retrieve values for that object. Each test object has a number of identification properties that describe the object.
Object identification properties can be used in the object repository description, programmatic descriptions, checkpoints, output values, test steps, and passed as argument values for GetTOProperty
and GetROProperty
methods. A runtime object is the actual object in AUT on which methods are performed during the run session.
