The first part of this chapter was rather theoretical. As a naive user of the Backbase framework, you do not need to know all we described there. We hope that by explaining some fundamentals of web application development with the Backbase framework it will be easier to understand the structure of it. This understanding will then make it easier to develop good web applications.
In this chapter, we provided more detail about the execution logic of a web application. We looked at the Backbase programming model and the various APIs it provides. In particular, we looked at XEL and Command Functions.
