Chapter 7. Focus Groups

In this section of the book about the different types of feedback meetings, we've discussed training (Chapter 5, Training Meetings) and performance (Chapter 6, Employee Performance Conversations). Both these topics are important for business success. On some level, training and performance rely upon a working relationship. It could be the relationship between a trainer or subject matter expert and the participant. Or it could focus on the relationship between a manager and employee. In both cases, it's the relationship that fuels the conversation.

Sometimes we want feedback without that kind of relationship. The focus is on the information and not the person conveying the information. That's where focus groups come in. They can provide us with feedback we might not otherwise be able to obtain.
