Technology versus a face-to-face meeting


Two factors drive the decision for using technology during a performance meeting. The first is location and the second is the message. There are some very well designed enterprise software solutions with the capability to share performance feedback. If your organization has those tools in place, you should explore how the software works.

But let's assume your company doesn't have that technology available. The first consideration, location, refers to where you and the employee are located. If you're both in the same building, then having a conversation in-person is relatively easy.
