SQL Server Reporting Services gives you the opportunity to show information contained in the Configuration Manager database using SSRS Reporting. It provides the security needed to manage the reports, and it also allows you to designate who can run and publish reports to the report server. SQL Server Management Studio, together with the Configuration Manager database, can be used to build queries prior to creating reports. Report Builder and Business Intelligence Development Studio can give the developer the tools needed to produce professional and versatile reports. SSRS also provides the additional functionality to fine-tune reports for performance and schedule them for an e-mail delivery. You can use the information contained in the reporting server database to understand which reports are candidates for performance enhancement and how reports are being executed in the environment.
