Hyper-V Network Virtualization provides an abstraction layer above your physical network very similar to how server virtualization provides VMs from a physical host. Network virtualization decouples virtual networks from the physical network infrastructure and removes the constraints of physical adapters, VLAN, and segregated networks on a physical level. Hyper-V Network Virtualization is a big prerequisite for real flexibility in an IT infrastructure.
