DHCP is a must have in VMware Horizon View environments as your virtual desktops, thin clients, zero clients, and software clients will all depend on IPs being served by a DHCP server. DHCP servers can be configured in multiple ways, but as best practice it is advisable to configure the DHCP server to utilize a subnet dedicated to View servers and virtual desktops. For Microsoft DHCP servers, it is recommended to configure name protection on the DHCP scope to prevent DNS hijacking and mischief.
