OCA Oracle Database 11g: Database Administration I: A Real-World Certification Guide
Now that we've installed the necessary software, we're ready to take on the task of creating an Oracle database. Once we've completed this chapter, we'll be free to operate on a database that, though small, will have the same essential architecture as any Oracle database being used in production systems around the world. It's important to note that we'll be introducing a number of unfamiliar concepts and terms in this chapter. Although we will briefly introduce them, the focus of this chapter is on building the database itself. Don't be overwhelmed—we'll take an in-depth look at how these concepts work in the next chapter.
In this chapter we shall:
Plan a database creation
Create a database using the Database Configuration Assistant
Examine the steps needed for a manual database creation
Understand how Oracle makes use of Windows Services
Change the font size
Change margin width
Change background colour
