DAX for Humans
By :
This chapter was all about working with numbers. We first covered numerous core DAX functions for working with numbers including the standard aggregation functions, trigonometry functions, and basic operators for addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, and exponentiation. Next, we covered the surprising number of rounding functions in DAX. We then explored some problematic DAX number functions, MOD and MEDIAN as well as a “missing” DAX function, mode. After that we cover more advanced topics such as ranking, aggregating measures, computing weighted averages, linear interpolation, and linear regression, finishing off the chapter with a brief treatment of different methods of formatting numbers.
In the next chapter, we cover the last remaining core data types in DAX, time as well as the concept of duration.
